***Feed baby 20-30 minutes before the session to help ensure they are full and settled for photos. Arrive early to feed your baby if possible. Feeding during the session is fine, but we're on a tight schedule.***

*Give baby a bath the morning of your session. Before leaving your house, try keeping baby awake for 1.5-2 hours. I know this is easier said than done, so don't stress. It's okay if they sleep on the way to the studio.

*Bring a pacifier. Even if your baby doesn't normally take one, it's a helpful distraction when wrapping/posing. Please also bring extra diapers, wipes, and a changing pad.

*I will typically start with baby first and follow up with family photos after. If other children are coming to your session, bring something to entertain them or have someone wait with them until we're ready.

(for sessions that include toddlers & young children, we can start with them while baby is being fed if necessary)

*It's okay and normal if your baby gets fussy! They're in a new place with a new person and that's why newborn sessions can take a little bit longer. If baby is fed & changed, I am confident in soothing them.

*I suggest wearing neutral colors. Avoid stripes, polka dots, or any busy patterns. Avoid harsh denim and bold colors.

*I have baby outfits for you to choose from and will provide all wraps/swaddles. I have a variety of colors to choose from!

*If there are specific poses you'd like to try, make sure to communicate beforehand so I can be prepared to manage the time needed for certain poses. Photos from the last 6 months of my Instagram portfolio is a good resource.

*Please note that some babies will not cooperate with certain poses and we will move on if that's the case to ensure full use of our time. Please note the difference between lifestyle & full sessions when considering desired poses.

*Table poses are no longer offered*

*If you want you may bring an outfit for the baby along with any specific item of clothing/accessory you want as long as it is communicated & approved beforehand. Absolutely no costumes allowed (tulle, outfits too large or small in size, fantasy styled items, unrealistic props, etc.). Items brought that were not approved by Photographer prior to the session will not be used.

*Preemie/NICU babies: while these babies came early & are now within the 6-9lb range, because of their older age some poses may not be possible. I will not force them into a position they seem to be uncomfortable with. If baby is on oxygen & you plan on removing it, please take the stickers off the night before/morning of the session to allow the swelling & redness to go down.
